Record (School history)

   The Faculty of Education was accredited by Ramkhamhaeng University to establish The Demonstration School of Ramkhamhaeng University (secondary) to be a center of education and an academic training facility for young people by Ramkhamhaeng University. The university council issued regulations regarding The Demonstration School of Ramkhamhaeng University (secondary) announced on October 8, 1971 and appointed a committee to prepare for the opening of The Demonstration School of Ramkhamhaeng University (secondary), with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Apirom Na Nakhon, the acting Dean of the Faculty of Education at that time as the chairman but because the construction of the school building was not completed in time for the 1971 academic year, it opened for the first time in the 1973 academic year as a co-educational school. Its purpose when it was founded was:

     1. To be a laboratory in the field of education.

     2. To be a place for education, research, experimentation and research in education.

     3. To demonstrate teaching and school administration for students in education, teachers and educational administrators.

     4. To be a secondary education institution, to train children and teenagers to have knowledge, skills, and good attitudes to be good citizens of the nation in the future.

   In the academic year 1973, teaching began at only grade 7 to grade 11 (secondary school curriculum 5 years), later the Ministry of Education revised the curriculum. The secondary school education became 6 years, starting from grade 7 to grade 11.

   During the 1987 academic year, The Demonstration School of Ramkhamhaeng University (secondary) led by Ajarn Amnuay Thongprong as the director got students prepared to participate in a contest to receive royal prizes with the cooperation of all personnel, until the 1990 academic year led by Assistant Professor Porta Bootsuthiwong as the director of the school when the Ministry of Education selected the school to receive a royal award. Secondary education in terms of teaching and learning had an outstanding standard and Assistant Professor Porta Bootsuthiwong together with student representatives received an award from HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn at Dusit Dalai Pavilion on Monday, May 20, 1991.

   In the academic year 1993, the Faculty of Education was approved by the Ministry of University Affairs to divide the government departments in the Faculty of Education into 7 departments, and The Demonstration School of Ramkhamhaeng University (secondary) was equivalent to a department. This was publicized in an announcement made by the Ministry of University Affairs in 1996, published in the Government Gazette, page 35, volume 113, part 15, dated February 20, 1996.

   During the academic year 2006, The Demonstration School of Ramkhamhaeng University (secondary) led by Ajarn Thip Hasasri as the director established the English Program. In the first academic year, there were only 15 students at that time. Currently, The Demonstration School of Ramkhamhaeng University (secondary) has 61 students in the English Program at the lower secondary level, 28 at the high school level, amounting to a total of 89 students.

   The Demonstration School of Ramkhamhaeng University (secondary) is now supervised by Lt. Col. Dr. Siripong Saophaiyon, Dean of the Faculty of Education as the leader of the administration and has appointed Asst. Prof. Dr. Kukrit Silalai, Vice-Dean for The Demonstration School of Ramkhamhaeng University (Director).

     2. Have research results, studies, experiments and research to develop teaching and learning and management to be more efficient as well as the dissemination of information for the benefit of further education.

     3. Students who graduate from The Demonstration School of Ramkhamhaeng University (secondary) are youths and good citizens of the society and the nation.

  

Crucial symbol

King Ramkhamhaeng the Great, the son of King Sri Inthrathit, and Phra Nang Sueang. He was the third king of the Phra Ruang dynasty. He ruled Sukhothai around the year 1820 – 1860
